How To Apply

Are you interested in applying to our school? We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child! These steps will walk you through the process.

The beginning of an amazing journey for your child.

We are excited that you are considering SCM for your family. The Montessori experience is a wonderful gift to your child that will keep on giving as they advance through their educational journey.

Our admissions process is designed to provide parents and their children with an opportunity to learn about our school, our philosophies, our teachers and the ways that a Montessori education helps develop the "whole child."

Please review the checklists below for enrollment procedures.

1.

3.

School Visit

When an enrollment spot becomes available, SCM schedules a teacher/child/parent visit. Visits vary depending upon the level.

Infant & Toddler (3 months to 3 years): A meeting with the teacher, child, and parents to observe the child's temperament, language development, and motor control, as the parent guides them in the environment. Meetings are typically 30 to 45 minutes.

Primary (3 to 6 years): A meeting with the teacher and the child. While parents are welcome to attend, it is with the intention of allowing the teacher and the child to converse and collaborate on various activities according to the child's interest and abilities.

Elementary (6 to 12 years): A meeting with the teacher, child and parents for a 15 minute overview of the program. The parents then step out for a 30 minute assessment of the child by the teacher.

4.

Enrollment Decision

SCM staff evaluates the application to determine the ability of the classroom to meet the child's needs. Parents are notified of an enrollment decision after the visit.

For the 2024/25 School year, admissions decisions will be sent by March 8, 2024

5.

Secure Enrollment

If enrollment is offered, return the signed enrollment agreement, payments and other required forms to secure child's spot.
