Come and visit

Schedule a tour

The best way to understand Montessori is to see it in action.

What to expect on a tour

You can read about Montessori for an evening and still wonder what a classroom looks like on an ordinary morning. A tour is where those questions get answered.

  • You see our programs in action. The in-person tour for Toddler, Primary, and Elementary takes you around the campus. The Infant tour is virtual.
  • Tours run in the mornings, by appointment. Pick a time in one of the calendars below.
  • The first visit is for grown-ups. Tours are for adults only. Both parents are encouraged to come, if that applies to your family and you can both make it.
  • Your child's turn comes later. Your child visits the classroom and meets the teacher at a later date. That is the school visit described in How to apply.

Choose your tour by your child's age

Infant families take a virtual tour. From 18 months up, one in-person tour shows you Toddler, Primary, and Elementary.

  • It is difficult to sum up the impact South Coast Montessori has had on our family. The school and amazing teachers have played a huge role in raising our two children from toilet training through long division.

Questions about tours

Which tour should I book?

It depends on your child's age. For an infant aged 3 to 18 months, book the Infant virtual tour. For a child aged 18 months to 12 years, book the in-person tour, which covers Toddler, Primary, and Elementary.

Can I drop by at any time for a tour?

No. Because of the high interest in our program, tours are held in the mornings, by appointment. You can book a time on this page. For general questions, use our contact form or call (805) 845-6555.

Should my child come on the tour?

No. The first tour is for adults only. Both parents are encouraged to come, if that applies to your family and you can both make it. Your child will have a chance to visit the classroom and meet the teacher at a later date.

When does my child get to visit?

When an enrollment spot becomes available, the school schedules a visit with the teacher, your child, and you. What happens at that visit depends on the level. How to apply describes the visit for each one.

What happens after the tour?

If you decide to go ahead, the next step is the online application, submitted with the non-refundable $100 application fee. How to apply walks you through every step, from the application to securing your child's spot.
